My father was born on the 13th of July. In Hindi, terah means thirteen said differently, it echoes closer to with you, I belong. That was always his way: nothing was ever just one thing. A number was also a promise. A date was also a devotion. And 07 carries its own meaning: your support because belonging means little without someone standing behind it, holding you up. He was sharply dressed, always playful, flamboyant, a room drawn to him wherever he stood. He taught me that quality is a form of respect, that beauty should be a little defiant, and that love is loud even when it doesn't announce itself. He left us suddenly, without warning. But he lives on.
What I understood afterward is this: a life doesn't end where the story stops being told. It continues in what gets made in its name.
Terah 07 is that continuation. Every jacket, every embellished shoulder, every deliberately loud detail against the quiet black and white of his attire that contrast is mine. Restraint and excess, worn at once. A man who could be still in a room, and impossible to ignore in it. It is a brand built so that thirteen never stops meaning with you, I belong and seven never stops meaning your support.
